What the commitment means

By joining, we have pledged to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050, in line with the global Race to Zero campaign. It is a public, time bound commitment, and one we intend to be held accountable to.

Why we committed

We build software that helps organisations measure, understand and reduce their emissions. It would not sit right with us to ask our clients to take climate action seriously if we were not doing exactly the same. This commitment keeps us honest, and it means we experience our own platform the way our customers do, as the people relying on it to hit real targets.

Using our own tools to get there

The part we are most excited about is that we are delivering on this commitment using ecolyptus itself.

We are measuring and reporting our own annual GHG emissions through ecolyptus Footprint, giving us a clear, audit ready picture of where our emissions come from across Scope 1, 2 and 3.

We are then setting and monitoring our reduction targets through ecolyptus Pathway, so we can track our progress towards 2030 and 2050 in the same way we help our clients track theirs.

The start of the journey

This is just the beginning. We will be sharing our progress openly as we go, including what works, what is harder than expected, and what we learn along the way. If we are asking businesses to commit to a lower carbon future, the least we can do is walk the path first.
